Mega Man Hits 3DS Virtual Console Next Week

Capcom will release the very first Mega Man game to the 3DS Virtual Console next week. The classic Famicom/NES title, originally released on December 27, 1987, will be available on July 18, priced ¥500.
The 18th is a particularly busy day for 3DS retro gamers. Sega will release Game Gear's Shadam Crusader for ¥300. Sunsoft will release Game Boy's Puri Puri Primitive Princess for ¥400.

Escape From Zombie City in Tom Create's New 3DS Action Title

Tom Create's latest 3DS download title is Escape! Zombie City.
This overhead action title is set in the year 20XX as slowing mantle movements weaken the Earth's magnetic field. The planet is bathed in cosmic radiation, and -- of course -- the dead rise from their graves.

The zombie kind take over the city and quickly wipe out the army. To end the zombie infestation once-and-for-all, the government announces a massive missile strike at dawn.

Playing as a soldier trapped in the city, your goal is to escape before the missiles strike. You move your character around with the slide pad, and attack with Y. And that's it! The game offers three difficulty settings, a story mode with over 90 stages, and a 10 missions "Endless Mode," where your ammo is unlimited.

Falcom Reportedly Planning Legend of Heroes For 3DS

Falcom may be expanding its Legend of Heroes series to non PlayStation platforms shortly. A seasonal company report on Falcom at Toyo Keizai's investor resources page says "The Kiseki series has been limited to PSP, but starting next term it will be offered on 3DS and a variety of other targets." Falcom is also planning side developments on PC and Smartphones, according to the report.

("Kiseki" is the Japanese name for the line of Legend of Heroes games that includes Trails in the Sky).

The Legend of Heroes series has been one of PSP's main franchises, having appeared on the system initially through Namco Bandai as ports of the PC installments. Eventually, Falcom began publishing the games itself, and switched the mainline development of the series to PSP. The latest PSP installment, Nayuta no Kiseki (which does away with the Legend of Heroes name), is due for release on July 26. The franchise is also coming to PlayStation Vita through an updated port of Zero no Kiseki.

die unchained blade reihe soll nachdem was ich so gelesen hab überraschend gut sein. wer also auf rpgs / dungeoncrawler steht sollte das nicht verpassen.

Oni Training Screenshots and Mode Details

The 3DS "reboot" of the Brain Age series places the focus on "Working Memory." You'll train through difficult exercises like "Demon Math" a game based off a problem type called "n-back." This is the problem that Nintendo CEO Satoru Iwata highlighted in a recent Nintendo Direct broadcast.

The game includes seven other types of Demon Training. Examples include:

Demon Mouse
Remember the panel the mouse has hidden behind.
Demon Speed Reading
Read a passage aloud while trying to commit a portion of the passage to memory
Demon Symbol
Remember the given symbol and select it from three options.
Demon Block
Remember the position of flashing blocks in order.

Each Demon Training exercise lasts five minutes. You're limited to one play of each training type per day.

Other modes include Demon Training Support, Brain Training and Relax. Support promises to speed up your Working Memory. Brain Training includes six new brain exercises on top of three exercises from past Brain Age games. Relax allows you to rest up your brain through mini games like "Cell Explosion" and "Bacteria Eradication."

The game supports data for up to four players, and even lets you compare rankings with your fellow players. Using Street Pass, you can trade your opinion of the game and your play data.

Mini Nintendo Direct Planned For Next Week Focusing on Demon Training

Nintendo will be holding the next Nintendo Direct earlier than expected. Turn to Nintendo's homepage on July 18 for a special Nintendo Direct broadcast.

This Nintendo Direct is special because it's short, at just 10 minutes, and it's focused entirely on one game, Brain Age sequel Demon Training. The name of the broadcast is "A Little Nintendo Direct Demon Training."

According to Nintendo's Twitter feed, the broadcast will include footage of CEO Satoru Iwata's visit with Dr. Ryuta Kawashima, the professor who supervises the Brain Age series

Atlus Staff Impressed by Shin Megami Tensei IV Trailer

Atlus gave the Shin Megami Tensei IV official site an all-too-rare update today. The site has new music and a new short developer message.

According to Kazuyuki Yamai of Team Maniacs, the game's development "studio," Atlus staff members were shown the game's first trailer earlier. The general impression was "It's Megaten!" and "Whoa!" and "Show more!"

Yamai told players to look forward to Soul Hackers, which is where the trailer will see its public debut.

Senran Kagura Burst Visual Book Cover Art

Marvelous had fans vote to select the character for the cover honors of Senran Kagura Burst's bonus "Girls' Secret File" visual book. Fans voted in large part for one of the new ninja girls, Mirai.
I believe the little sign on Mirai's legs is asking people to pick her up and take her home, like one might take home a stray cat. The concept for the cover is, in fact, "cute stray cat."

Why Mirai has been placed in a box is something we won't known until the police have completed their questioning of the game's artist.

More Characters Coming For Project X Zone

Project X Zone has a final release date, but Namco Bandai isn't done with the character reveals yet. The game's official blog said today that there are still some unannounced ally characters.

The recent trailer hinted at this, of course, as it ended with the phrase "and more...." This was in reference to unannounced characters, the blog confirms.

Today's blog post is mostly about the game's field maps. The maps are where you move your characters between those sweet cut-ins (or maybe it's the other way around).

When moving a character, you have full control over the character. This isn't the type of strategy game where you select a hexagon or square and the character moves there. As you move, you can press the B button to make the character dash.

The blog also explains a few of the past screenshots that appeared to show two cut-in animations, one on the top screen and one on the bottom screen. This happens during a support attack. The main team appears on one screen, and the support team appears on the other screen. Only one team will actually speak during these pair attacks. The team that speaks will be shown on the top screen.

Grandpa Danger Conversion Set for 3DS

Namco Bandai opened a teaser site today for Dangerous Jii-san Jya, a 3DS game adaptation of a popular Jump manga that's known in English as Grandpa Danger. The site has a teaser trailer, but does not share details on the game, which is due for release this Winter.

Und UnchainBlades! Bringt den ersten Teil endlich mal wenigstens in den doofen eShop!

Hmm ich muss zugeben dass mir die Adventure Time Franchise überhaupt nix sagt.
Auf den ersten Blick wirkt sie ziemlich hässlich imho, aber vlt taugt das Spiel ja trotzdem was.

Was Shin Megami Tensei betrifft ist das die reinste Folter aber bisher haben sie es eh noch nichtmal geschafft Overclocked hierherzubringen, daher werd ich die Reihe nun mit meiner Missachtung strafen.
Püüüüh! Nun hab ich es ihnen aber gegeben.

Bei Project X Zone scheinen sie es wirklich zu übertreiben... wenn es so vollgestopft ist kommt man doch gar nicht dazu seine Lieblinge richtig zu spielen.

Der Grandpa Danger 3DS Titel wird garantiert niemals hier erscheinen. =P

Zum einem das und leider bin ich in letzter Zeit auch zu bequem mir die ganzen big walls of engrish copy & paste text durchzulesen und neige dazu immer öfters die zu überspringen bzw. bis zu den deutschsprachigen Stellen dazwischen zu springen oder klicke mir schnell thematisch ähnliche Berichte in deutsch bei den Favoriten u.a. heraus.

Ich schätze die News hier auch sehr, weil man das von 4P wirklich nicht mitbekommt und ich momentan nicht die Zeit habe das ganze Internet zu scannen. Aber ja, ich mach's auch eher so, dass ich mal drüber lese; evtl. nen Trailer ansehe und dann behalte ich die Spiele bei Interesse am Schirm.
Das Überinformieren über Entwicklungsverlauf etc. hab ich jetzt ne Zeit lang schon aufgegeben. Mich interessierts nicht so und am Ende kommen die SPiele raus und ich hab das Gefühl ich kenn sie schon so gut als hätte ich sie gespielt. Das nimmt etwas die Lust am Zocken - zumindest bei mir.

Das mit MegaTen ist lächerlich. Hoffen wir mal das es nicht das übliche Atlus Recycling ist. Der Rest ist für mich eher B-News, da das meiste sowieso japan nie verlässt *sniff*
Wenn das Arc System Spiel ne Story hat isses sowieso von meinem radar verschwunden, so gut ihre 2D Grafiken auch sind, so schlecht ist ihr Geschreibsel.
