Apropos Wide Receiver:
Plaxico Burress kommt ausm Knast und will wieder spielen. Bin mal gespannt wo er landet. Ist ja auch kein schlechter und nach Vick's Erfolg könnte ich mir schon vorstellen, dass er nochmal eine Chance bekommt. Wenn er sich im Knast tatsächlich gut Fit halten konnte hat er bestimmt auch noch 2-3 gute Jahre drin.

Och, würde mich nicht wundern wenn die Bengals, obwohl keinerlei Bedarf, den bei sich unterkommen lassen würden, die haben doch so ein Faible für gescheiterte Existenzen in der NFL ...

So...nachdem am gleichen Tag Maus, Tastatur und Festplatte über den Jordan gegangen sind melde ich mich wieder zurück xD

bei Plaxico Burress könnte ich mir auch noch ein paar gute Jahre vorstellen. Die Giants wollen ihn wohl nicht zurück, aber die Eagles erscheinen mir auch als ganz geeigneter Anlaufpunkt. Michael Vick hat sich dort schon für ihn ausgesprochen und meinte, Andy Reid habe wohl ein Händchen für solche Fälle. Zudem haben die Eagles schon ein paar gute Receiver, ergo würde er nciht unter dem Druck stehen instant delivern zu müssen.

Ich glaube nicht, dass er zu den Bengals passen würde. Zumal ich glaube, das Mike Brown nach Ochocincos Eskapaden erstmal die Schnauze voll von sowas hat...und T.O. haben die ja auch noch xD

Bei dem Lockout scheint es derzeit zu einer einigung gekommen zu sein,sodass u.U. sogar gar keine Spiele ausfallen!

Auf diese "Hurra, es gibt ne Einigung" Posts auf einschlägigen Seiten werde ich erst reagieren, wenn die länger als 2 Stunden Bestand haben

Zu Plaxico Burress noch was Neues: mittlerweile hat Ben Roethlisberger gesagt, dass bei dem Team, das ihn damals gedraftet hat auch noch alle Türen offen wären.

Da wäre ich allerdigns vorsichtig...mit Hines Ward haben die ne sichere Nummer 1 und Mike Wallace ist eigtl. die etatmäßige Nummer 2 und Mike Tomlin ist jetzt nicht gerade für Rotation bekannt...

Ja, wer will die nciht....zumal die letzte Woche ja mal GARNICHTS geschissen bekommen haben laut den News auf NFL.com. Die sollen sich mal einigen...SO schwer kanns doch nun wirklich nciht sein und die Zeit wird langsam wirklich knapp....v.a. für die Rookie QBs, denn ich denke, wir können mal davon ausgehen, das zumindest in Tennessee, Carolina und evtl. Minnessota (dort aber zumidnest mittelfristig) die neuen (also Locker, Newton und Ponder) starten werden

Jay Feely, Kicker bei den Cardinals und deren Vertreter für die Spielerschaft bei den derzeitigen CBA Verhandlungen hat sich vor ein paar Tagen in einem Radiointerview folgendermaßen zur Situation geäußert:

"“I was just on a conference call,” he said. “Obviously, I cannot talk about the details of it, but we are absolutely working hard. I do not think it is as close as some people make it out to be. There are still some issues we have to resolve. I do not think we are going to miss games. I am hopeful that we will not miss games. But there are definitely some steps that need to be taken. Rational thought needs to be the dominant force driving these negotiations.

“If you allow emotion to get into it, if one side tries to strong arm another, then it is not going to get accomplished. All that hurts in the end is not only the fans, but 150,000 jobs that are tied directly to the in-stadium experiences, as well as all of the restaurants and hotels that depend on that revenue to make mortgage payments and survive and sustain themselves. It is incumbent on both sides to keep rational thought at the forefront and find a way to get a deal done.”

Asked why he doesn’t think talks are as close as being reported, Feely said “I have optimism, but I am also realistic. I know there are issues that need to be accomplished. It is not that those issues cannot be overcome, but it is not inevitable, either.”

Feely also touched upon the rookie wage scale that has gotten so much attention of late.

“Our perspective is that if we are going to give back money, which we are on the rookies, then from the owners’ side they need to be willing to do four-year maximum contracts,” he said. “In my career, I have discovered that you know for sure by the first or second year a guy who is a rookie that is going to be in your plans going forward. When you look at the difference between four and five years, it may not look like a lot, but to the players it is. Four-year maximum contracts are something that we are really not willing to negotiate on.”
