GameSpy: Are there any advantages that working with the Xbox 360 has given you that weren't possible with the previous game?
Okamoto: I think that the biggest thing we can do now is up the level of violence in the game. You can dismember enemies and their body parts will lie on the ground, and the way that blood spurts out in streams. Like you saw with the Wind Blades Ninpo to cut all the enemies to pieces and throw them into the air. This is the kind of thing that we've been wanting to do for a while, because it's such an integral part of the game, and the Xbox 360 hardware has made it possible to make that a reality.

[...]One thing that I want to make clear is that we're not including violence for its own sake. It's always tied into the gameplay. It's used to enhance the combat. We don't include things like messing around with body parts, like picking up arms and throwing them, or attacking innocent people, or innocent bystanders. That's not how we treat the violence. We're about realistically portraying what would happen if two combatants were to fight to the death.
Okamoto: A lot of hardcore gamers, like yourselves, talk about Ninja Gaiden being one of the best action games out there, and we really respect that, and we want to continue to satisfy those fans. But we also want to get the game into the hands of as many people as possible. What we want to do is make the game more approachable, in terms of reducing some of the frustrating elements of the game.
Das reicht IMO auch.
