The demo starts as you'd expect; thrown into the town after a small introduction to the demo. Level cap is 10.

The first change I noticed was when selecting characters; you can now select the class and appearance of a new character before naming them. I then go around checking out the city.

At Sefrim's Inn I found that saving the game is now almost instantaneous. At Belund Workshop I find that equipment you can buy is separated by category, as are your equipment/items and items from the labyrinth when selling.

Moving on to the first labyrinth, it's a single-floor mini labyrinth, much smaller than the first floor's of previous games, but contains 3 Baboon-like F.O.E's. The goal is to mine an item from a mine point, which no longer require you to use skill points (characters do have skills that increase the number of items you can get though).

Going through, I get my first battle; a grasshopper. The game now has a "dictionary" option in-battle, which is essentially the monster book (stats, skills, items) with enemy strengths and weaknesses listed (all blanked out at first, of course). I make my way through and mine the point on the path of 2 F.O.E's before returning to the town.

The next adventure is the airship. Unlike the boat in EO3 there is no turn limit. Fish, animals, vegetables and other item points don't move, and replenish every day, so as long as you avoid F.O.E's it's a good source of money. Items you find can be traded with other airships for nice items (I earned a bracelet that increased TP by 10, and all other stats by 1).

Returning to town, the area containing StreetPass is open. StreetPass is disabled, but the QR reader (for items, quests and guild cards) is usable for items. The QR reading is instantaneous (no holding the system still for a few seconds) and gave me a map, Kung Fu Shoes and Snow Ring which contains a LV1 RuneMaster skill that increases party resistance to Ice and reduces enemies, which would suggest more items throughout the game that give you extra skills.

Finally the next dungeon, where I still am now. There's a pink rat type enemy (I think it's in EO3 too) that can do decent damage to characters even if they're fairly well equipped.
playthrough:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5YphodOpIMU Part 1
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=v3v18QTzqNI Part 2

Yoshitaka Amano Doing Character Design Work on UnchainBlades EXXIV
One of the big charms of Furyu's PSP and 3DS RPG UnchainBlades Rexx was its cast of characters, each designed by a famous character designer. For the game's sequel, UnchainBlades EXXIV, Furyu has upped the famous one notch.

Famitsu reveals this week that Yoshitaka Amano will be contributing to the project. The illustrator, known for his work on the Final Fantasy series, did the design for the game's black knight character.

Outside of Amano's role in the game, Famitsu reveals that Nana Mizuki will sing the game's theme song. And some bad news: the game has been delayed. Furyu announced an October 18 release date when the game was first unveiled last month. Famitsu now lists a November 15 date.

Project X Zone Dated for October 11; New Characters Announced
Famitsu has a final October 11 release date for Project X Zone this week. The 3DS crossover strategy game will be priced ¥6,280.

The magazine also has some new character reveals:

Imca: Valkyria Chronicles 3
Arthur (Ghosts 'n Goblins)
Rikiya Busujima (Zombie Revenge)
Flynn (Tales of Vesperia)
Devilotte (Cyberbots)

These characters will be joined by at least two original characters, Kogoro (voiced by Toshihiko Seki) and Mii Ouryuuji (voiced by Yukari Tamura -- I'm not sure about the writing of the name).

Project X Zone Screenshots and Solo Unit Gameplay Details
Famitsu.com has posted new screenshots of Project X Zone, showing the new characters that were revealed in Weekly Famitsu this week. As reported earlier, the game's cast now includes Imca (Valkyria Chronicles 3), Arthur (Ghosts 'n Goblins), Rikiya Busujima (Zombie Revenge), Flynn (Tales of Vesperia) and Devilotte (Cyberbots). View the gallery below for the screens.
There are a couple of gameplay details in Famitsu's report regarding the mysterious "Solo Units." Thus far, the details we've received on the battle system involve Pair Units -- that is, units formed by two characters. You can also add a Solo Unit to this Pair Unit. During battle, you can use the Solo Unit's skills, and also make the Solo Unit perform a Solo Attack by pressing L.
Here's how you can create an attack with five party members. When you perform an attack with the Pair Unit you're currently moving, if another Pair Unit is in the vicinity, you can press R to call the other Pair Unit in for a Support Attack. Press L, and your Solo Unit will also come into the attack, resulting in five character carnage.
Finally, a look at the game's first print run packaging. In addition to a special box, this includes a booklet introducing the characters and their games, and a "crossover soundtrack CD" featuring the game's background music. This isn't a limited edition -- just the first print run of the standard edition, which sees release on October 11, priced ¥6,280.

Inazuma Eleven Go 2 Chrono Stone Release Detailed
Inazuma Eleven Go 2 Chrono Stone is on display in Level-5's booth at the World Hobby Fair today. Level-5 also provided a long awaited update on the game, complete with details on the game's two versions.

Like its predecessors, Chrono Stone will be released in two versions, "Neppuu" and "Raimei." Both versions are due for simultaneous release this Winter. The platform is, as previously announced, 3DS.

The Inazuma Eleven series has shipped 4.9 million units domestically and abroad, Level-5 also said today. The figure is current as of the end of May.

Shin Megami Tensei IV Official Site Updated With Classic Megaten Music
I have to admit that I don't remember if this was always the case or not, but various Japanese blogs are saying that the Shin Megami Tensei IV official site has been updated to play the original Shin Megami Tensei opening theme song. There's also a brief message at the bottom, saying "Development Atlus Maniacs Team" and "Please look forward to a followup report (Kazuyuki Yamai)."

Our first look at the new 3DS Megaten is expected through a debut trailer that's being included with the 3DS version of Devil Summoner Soul Hackers, which sees release on 8/30.

Project X Zone: New Trailer Date and Time Set
We have a rather precise arrival time for the first Project X Zone promotional video. (I'm pretty sure we've seen promotional videos for the game before, but Namco Bandai refers to this as the first one.)

The game's official blog said today that a lengthy trailer will be released at the official site on Monday, July 2 at 11:00.

The site itself will also get a refresh that day with all the character content that was announced this week, and some commentary from the game's voice staff.

Namco Bandai also released the game's cover art, which features an illustration from Namco Bandai publicity character illustrator Masato Morioka.

man darf gespannt sein...

Manabu Namiki Providing Music For 3DS Shooter Kokuga
The mystery musician behind G.Rev's original 3DS shooter Kokuga has been revealed to be Manabu Namiki. G.Rev announced Namiki's involvement in the project today and also shared details on the game's original soundtrack.

Namiki is a veteran game musician, with particular experience in shooters. Past work includes DoDonPachi, Death Smiles, Mushihimesama, and Ketsui. Outside of shooters, Namiki did the music for such games as Black Rock Shooter the Game, Hero 30 Second, Castelvania ReBirth, and Contra ReBirth.

An original soundtrack for Kokuga will be released simultaneously with the game itself on September 27, priced ¥2,625.

wayforward ist zurück
According to WayForward, the Adventure Time 3DS/DS project will contain adventure gameplay. The studio considered making it a puzzle-platformer or brawler, but thought that it wouldn’t be true to the show’s title.

WayForward designer Matt Bozon said the team “decided that something like Zelda 2: The Adventure of Link was the common ground”
“Because of this our top-view areas focus on quests and exploration, and the side view combines combat with platforming.”

First Look: 3DS Naruto SD Powerful Shippuden
The second 3DS Naruto game following last year's Naruto Shippuuden Shinobi Rittai Emaki ups the head size and the cuteness. Namco Bandai provided a first look today at Naruto SD Powerful Shippuden, a 3DS action title with SD-style Naruto characters.
Access the game's official site here. Naruto SD Powerful Shippuden is due for release this Winter.

Gibt ohnehin zuwenig Zelda 2 Style Spiele.
