Das Gerücht eines Remakes von Halo: Kampf um die Zukunft gab es bereits im letzten Jahr, doch nun scheint es offiziell zu sein. Halo: Combat Evolved wird noch in diesem Jahr eine Neuauflage erfahren und wahrscheinlich am 15. November zum 10-jährigen Jubiläum erscheinen. Doch es soll sich dabei nicht nur um eine grafische Auffrischung handeln, sondern auch Spielelemente und die Steuerung sollen angepasst werden. 343 Industries hat für die Entwicklung angeblich das Team hinter TimeShift, Battle: Los Angeles und Inversion Saber Interactive angeheuert. Ideen zu einem Mehrspielermodus sind laut Gerüchten noch im Gespräch, doch ein online Co-op scheint wahrscheinlich, denn bereits das Original hatte einen Splitscreen Co-op.

Ich kann mir das nur so erklären, dass 343 genug mit Halo 4 zu tun haben wird, was dann nächstes Jahr kommt.

Ganz ehrlich: Wenn bei MS alles normal läuft, dann wird das Halo 1 Remake angekündigt und Halo 4 für 2012 präsentiert. Alles andere wäre schon fast eine Enttäuschung für all die Halo Fans.

Quick Shots: Max Payne 3 screens rock the beard and a wounded expression

Rockstar has put out four screenshots for Max Payne 3, and we’ve posted them below for you.

Each comes way of PC Gamer, who has the rest of the lot posted from April 23 on the site as well which were originally exclusive to Edge.

Max Payne 3 will be released on PC, PS3, and Xbox 360. There’s no date though as of yet, unfortunately. Here’s hoping there’s one provided at E3.

Monolith reveal expected for E3

Warner Bros. Seattle general manager Laura Fryer has suggested that a new game from Monolith Productions could be announced in the coming weeks, pointing to an E3 announcement from the F.E.A.R. 2 developer.

Talking to Develop magazine about her forthcoming appearance at the Develop conference in July, Fryer said that "by conference time we should also be able to talk about the latest game from the creative team behind No One Lives Forever and F.E.A.R., and what we've learned along the way."

That'll be Monolith, then.

A new game from Monolith was first hinted at all the way back in June 2009 when a job ad revealed that the team was looking for a software engineer to work on "a cutting-edge first-person action game on PlayStation 3, XBox 360 and PC."

Current job ads on Monolith's website point to the possibility of the game being an open-world title, with one asking for an "expert in level/world design/layout/creation, game-play/AI setup/scripting for large AAA action/adventure or open-world games."

Monolith has previously developed the superb Austin Powers-alike No One Lives Forever series, as well as Condemned and F.E.A.R 1 and 2. The studio was acquired by Warner Bros in 2004.

Mass Effect 3 - Gears of War-Manöver & neue Begleiter auf der E3

Wie das OXM (Official Xbox Magazine) in der aktuellen Ausgabe berichtet, werden sich die Kämpfe in Mass Effect 3 offenbar noch actionreicher als in den beiden Vorgängern spielen. So sollen Commander Shepard und Anhang in Feuergefechten in Deckung springen und sich abrollen können. Außerdem dürfen die Helden jetzt auch blind aus der Deckung schießen. Das kennt man bereits aus den Spielen der Gears of War -Reihe – oder fast jedem anderen Third-Person-Shooter der jüngeren Vergangenheit.

Außerdem beschreibt das Magazin auch genauer, wer die Gegner von Commander Shepard im Finale der Trilogie sein werden. SPOILER-GEFAHR: Hauptsächlich wird sich der Spieler und seine Begleiter mit den Agenten der Geheimorganisation Cerberus herumschlagen dürfen. Die treten in den Geschmacksrichtungen Schwer, Mittel und Leicht auf und sind entsprechend bewaffnet und gepanzert. Neben Cerberus laufen Shepard außerdem fast ständig die von den Reapern verwandelten Husks vor die SciFi-Flinte.

Nicht nur in direkter Konfrontation sondern auch auf diplomatischem Weg soll der Spieler die Reaper bekämpfen. So ist es möglich die Unterstützung bestimmter Spezies zu gewinnen, kann diese aber – genau wie die Besatzungsmitglieder in Mass Effect 2 – auch wieder verlieren. ENDE SPOILER GEFAHR

In Mass Effect 3 soll die Abstimmung der Ausrüstung wieder wichtiger werden. So lassen sich bei Waffen Lauf, Griff und Zielsystem austauschen. Außerdem darf diesmal auch der Spieler ein SciFi-Monokel wie Begleiter Garrus anlegen um dadurch auch ohne Zielfernrohr ein besserer Scharfschütze zu sein.

Mehr Details zu Mass Effect 3 möchte Bioware in einer »großen Ankündigung« auf der E3 vorstellen. Laut OXM zählen dazu nicht nur neue Features sondern auch neue (und wiederkehrende) Begleiter. Mass Effect 3 soll für PC, Xbox 360 und PlayStation 3 erst 2012 erscheinen.

E3: Microsoft zeigt Forza Motorsport 4

17.05.11 - Microsoft gibt bekannt, dass man das Rennspiel Forza Motorsport 4 auf der E3 (07.06.11 - 09.06.11) in Los Angeles zeigen wird. Die Präsentation soll auf einer Presseveranstaltung am Mittwoch, den 08.06.11 stattfinden. Release: Herbst 2011 (Europa)

Brink: 69 Prozent der UK-Verkäufe für Xbox 360

16.05.11 - 69 Prozent der verkauften Brink (PS3, Xbox 360) in Großbritannien entfallen auf die Xbox 360-Version. Das hat GfK Chart-Track ermittelt.

23 Prozent der Verkäufe kann die PS3-Version für sich verbuchen, 8 Prozent der PC. Das zum Zeitpunkt der Veröffentichung von Brink noch abgeschaltete PlayStation Network könnte dafür gesorgt haben, dass der Absatz der Xbox 360-Version angekurbelt wurde.

Brink kam am 13.05.11 in Europa von Bethesda Softworks in den Handel.

Big Park working on story driven new IP

The portfolio for a freelance video game writer who has worked on Bully, Socom and the upcoming SSX has unveiled that he helped work on a brand new title for Microsoft studio Big Park.

The studio last worked on Kinect Joy Ride, but their next project is to feature new characters (no avatars in sight?) and a storyline, so we can expect that it isn't a carting game.

We revealed earlier that Microsoft may be revealing at least 10 new franchises for Kinect at next months E3 aimed at the more traditional gamer rather than your dancing granny or sporty brother. This is likely one of them.

Rumor: Alan Wake - Night Springs Will Be an XBLA Title

An extremely trusted source has leaked to us that the upcoming Alan Wake: Night Springs will be an Xbox Live Arcade title and not a retail release. We have seen screen caps, but have been asked not to disclose them at this time. We have emailed Microsoft asking for a comment and will update as the situation develops.

We would like to point out that we announced the Gotham City Imposters XBLA game months ago, which was recently confirmed. We cannot confirm details about Alan Wake: Night Springs yet, but we expect an official announcement to come soon.

Xbox 360 Dashboard Update erscheint heute
19.05.11 - Microsoft gibt bekannt, dass ab heute ein Xbox 360 System Update weltweit durchgeführt wird. Wichtigste Neuerung ist die Integration von PayPal.

Mit dem Online-Bezahlsystem können Nutzer Inhalte auf Xbox Live kaufen. Dazu muss das PayPal-Konto mit dem Xbox Live-Konto auf Xbox.com verknüpft werden. Anschließend ist PayPal eine Zahlungsoption, mit der sich u.a. Microsoft-Punkte, Xbox Live Gold Mitgliedschaften und Games on Demand Titel kaufen lassen.

Neu ist auch eine Auto-Standby Funktion. Damit schaltet die Konsole automatisch in den Standby Modus, wenn sie seit über einer Stunde nicht benutzt wird. Schließlich wird auch das neue Xbox 360 Disc Format unterstützt, durch das sich 1GB Daten zusätzlich auf eine Spiele-Disc speichern lassen.

Ratings Reveal: Kinect Me, Fusion: Genesis, Crimson Alliance Coming To Xbox 360

The Australian Classification Board has been a great resource for finding information about games prior to their reveal, and today's update is no different -- three games for the Xbox 360 have been revealed, possibly showing us what we're up for during E3.

The first title is Crimson Alliance, developed by Certain Affinity. This developer previously got their feet wet in the digital space with Age Of Booty back in 2008. Since then they've been the go-to guys for Halo: Reach and Call Of Duty map packs. Some have speculated that it could be a downloadable return of Crimson Skies based on the name, but it also might be intertwined with a Bungie-based property.

The second title is Fusion: Genesis, which does not have a developer specified. Thanks to Shard on the NeoGAF forums, we also know that Microsoft trademarked Fusion: Vault and Fusion: Sentient, possibly showing a new downloadable trilogy or part of a three-screen strategy by Microsoft.

The final game is a little more obvious: Kinect Me, which might be a new mini-game collection for download or retail. The Korean Rating Boards have also rated something called the Kinect Fun Lab, which could very well be the same thing.

Ist das eigentlich ein rein serverseitiges Update? Meine Freundin hat zB. noch kein Update bekommen. (Ich hatte meine eigene Konsole seit längerem nicht mehr an.)
